This is the open source version of Visual Studio Code.

You can get it at: https://vscodium.com/

To work with Java, you want the “Java Pack” addons, to get it search for the package ID in the search box:

java.vscode-java-pack

Traditional Editors #

The two traditional programmer’s editors are Vim and Emacs. Either is recommended. Keep in mind that these programs require some effort to set up and learn, but generally provide more flexibility than other options.
